Emotional problems and comorbid psychopathology are common to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and are considered to be more prevalent in this population than in the general population, thus necessitating accurate assessment of symptoms. The Diagnostic Assessment for the Severely Handicapped II (DASH II) is a measure used to assess psychopathology in people with severe and profound Intellectual Disabilities.

The Assessment of Dual Diagnosis (ADD) is a measure used to assess psychopathology in people with mild and moderate Intellectual Disabilities.

The Psychopathology Instrument for Mentally Retarded Adults (PIMRA) is a screening measure used to aid in differential diagnosis of psychopathology in adults with Intellectual Disabilities.
