Maladaptive behaviors are not uncommon in people with developmental disabilities. Due to limited communication skills, it is often difficult to determine what is the cause, or function, of a behavior. Accurate assessment of these behaviors is necessary to determine appropriate treatment/interventions. Click on the links below for further descriptions of each measure.

The Questions About Behavior Function (QABF) is a rating scale used to assess the variables maintaining a behavior.

The Functional Assessment for multiple CausaliTy (FACT) is forced-choice rating scale used to determine the maintaining variables for behaviors that serve multiple function.

The Questions About Behavior Function - Mental Illness (QABF-MI) is a rating scale used to assess the variables maintaining a behavior with people with serious mental illnesses.

The Profile of Toileting Issues (POTI) is a rating scale used to assess the variables affecting toileting problems such as enuresis and encopresis.
